What you speak is what you seek!

Proverbs 10:17-21Proverbs 10:17-21
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth. erreth: or, causeth to err 18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. 19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise. 20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. 21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom. of wisdom: Heb. of heart

fool. (v19) In the multitude of words there wants not sin: but he that refrains his lips is wise.  (v20) The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth. (v21) The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.”

In our lives we have a choice to speak blessings over others, blessings into our own lives or curse others and ourselves.  Those of you who know me know I am not a prosperity preacher.  I do believe there are concepts of God’s Word which does show us how to receive God’s blessings and give those out to those around us.

This verse says “He that hides hatred with lying lips” meaning when we don’t care for someone, do we shower them with flowers or just try to love them with the love of the Lord, pray for them and speak blessings into their lives?

Many of us would lye to their face about how we feel and then turn around and gripe like crazy about them!  Why do we not just keep quite about how we feel, be nice and share the blessings of the Lord?

This scripture also talks about “he that utters a slander, is a fool”.  Now who wants to be a fool in God’s eyes?  I sure do not.  So, why do we speak bad about those around us?  Why do we slander their character when we know exactly what we’re doing is wrong in God’s eyes?

Verse 21 says “the lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.” I believe that is saying exactly what we all know.  If we keep our tongue from slandering all those around us, God will bless our tongues to be used in His service.  IF we go about talking trash about everyone, then “we will die for want of wisdom.”

Remember it is only fools who spout slander against other people.  Those serving Christ should be the ones keeping hold on their tongues and speaking blessings over others.

Remember:  we reap what we sow!  So I ask you today, Are You Sowing Blessings to Others or Are We Sowing Corrupt Speech and Slanderous Words to Others?’

What do you expect to reap from what you are sowing?

3 1 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation. condemnation: or, judgment 2 For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Behold, we put bits in the horses' mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. 4 Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! a matter: or, wood 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. course: Gr. wheel 7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: kind: Gr. nature mankind: Gr. nature of man 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be. 11 Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? place: or, hole 12 Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

it speaks directly of the sinful nature of the tongue.  It is a small organ, but directs our pathways with the words we permit it to spew out!  Look at

the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course (wheel) of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.”

There is some powerful scripture!  our tongue is a fire and world of iniquity?  WOW!  what power and corruption our tongue is.  This small organ in the body has the power to destroy the whole body and set the course of nature for our lives.

This small organ is able to move mountains, change our lives, and even destroy us.  Everything depends on how we use that tongue!  Then he says, “it is set on fire of hell!”

What comes out of our mouths will form our total lives.  When my wife and I get to speaking negative about people, things happening in our lives, our children’s lives etc. we soon realize our own lives have become negative.

WE MUST REALIZE WHAT COMES OUT OF OUR MOUTH WILL FORM OUR LIVES!

You don’t believe that?  What about a paraphrased verse confession is made with the mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord.  What does that do for you?  It is one element of being saved from our sins!  You confess, you get saved! Pretty simple?

(Before the letters start coming I know there are other elements to the process of being saved. This is a mere example of the power of the tongue not a salvation message.)

In Mark 11:23Mark 11:23
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

it says “For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he says shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he says”

1. “whosoever shall say unto this mountain”:  When we have trials and troubles in this live, we can speak to them to move.  We do not have to totally live in poverty, desperate situations, and be miserable.  God provides mountains in our lives at times to check our faith in Him.  When we ‘speak’ to that mountain, He promises to move it according to our faith!  What do you need moved in your life?  Do you have the faith to stand in your room, speak to that mountain out loud and demand it to move to the depths of the sea?

2.  I want to call your attention to another thing.  If you have a mountain in front of you, where are you going?  What or why do you need to go on that pathway in life?  Many of us

focus on the mountains in our lives and for get the valley, the oasis, the promise of God on the other side!  If we are moving in God’s will for our lives, then He has something very special for our lives if and when we learn to ‘speak’ to things distracting us.

So I ask you, ‘WHAT DO YOU SEEK FOR YOUR LIFE?”  No I’m not yelling at you, I’m making a point.  If we serve a risen Savior, the Creator of this world, the Lord of Lords, Jehovah Jirah, then why do we not have the faith to speak blessings over our lives and the lives of others?  Why do we doubt that God can and will handle the mountains in our lives when we speak as though it has already been removed?

Why do we wonder why people are obnoxious to us when we’ve spent the week speaking bad things and yes, curses over them all week?  Maybe they had a bad week because of our tongues!

11 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. substance: or, ground, or, confidence

WP-Bible plugin
is a famous verse.  Everyone who know their Bible knows this verse.  My question is “do we really accept and believe what it says?”

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, (are you hoping God will use you and bless you?) the evidence of things not seen. (You cannot see what God is trying to work out, but you have faith He is in control of things?)

It’s like the mountain and the oasis on the other side we going to.  Mountains can be climbed for more strength or we can go around them and gain nothing.  Speak what you believe today and see the blessings come your way!

Speak to those things as if they are already happening in your life and you will see the evidence of them coming to pass.  Bless others with your tongue if you wish to be blessed.

“What You Speak is What You Seek!”  Are you seeking blessings or cursings?

Our lives are full of words.  This message has been preached in it’s entirety on Ad4j Radio Network and other places. It is one of my favorite messages the Lord has given me.
