August 27, 2012 New school year

Today is the first day of classes at Seagraves ISD.  This new year has brought with it many

new things for the school and students as well as staff.

As a substitute teacher I will have to attend class.  I feel like I could teach it I’ve done this for so long.  (Maybe I should ask them!)

Beth has had her shoulder replacement.  God has been so gracious to her.  She has had very little pain considering the surgery.

This week we are working on our new Youth Group which will start next Tuesday evening at 6:30.  We are working to reach out to youth ages 13+.  If we gain enough 20+ folks, then we’ll begin a ‘College Bound’ group for services, Bible Study, and of course fun and games.

God has been opening doors for ministry.  We have had awesomely powerful services as the Holy Spirit has really been moving.  We are looking forward to more requests for us to come minister.

Of course my wife, with her shoulder, has not been able to travel with me.  So I travel alone and enjoy either the flight or the drive.  Then I spend the ‘extra’ time in prayer and waiting upon the Lord for His direction for the services.

It is so important for me to have prayer time.  That is the only way we can experience the fullness of God’s power for ministry.  I spend up to 5 or 6 hours a day in prayer plus nights.  There are nights I cannot sleep because the Lord and I need more ‘talkin’ time.

Our days must be about prayer.  There are times I feel the pull of the Lord to draw me into a time of prayer with Him.  Those are the times, I go to another room to be alone with Him.

Have a blessed evening!
