He Who began a good work….

Philippians 1:6Philippians 1:6
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: perform: or, finish

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” KJV

As we consider this scripture, may we also look at the Amplified Bible: “And I am convinced and sure of this very thing, that He Who began a good work in your will continue until the day of Jesus Christ [right up to the time of His return], developing [that good work] and perfecting and bringing it to full completion in you.”

Do you ever feel things are just too bad and you don’t have the ability to do what God is calling you to do? Many of us can relate to that feeling.

God does not call only the highly skilled and educated. Many of the highly educated are so inundated with humanistic ideologies, they are of no use to God. What God is looking for is not ‘a-bility’ but ‘avail-abilitiy’!

In our world today, education is very important. I believe in a good education. That is how one excels in the natural world, but, when speaking spiritually, the only education we need is of the Holy Spirit.

The Word of God states in Proverbs 2:6Proverbs 2:6
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

“For the Lord gives skillful and godly Wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Through the Holy Spirit, God gives us wisdom, teaches us His Word, if only we will call upon Him and as for wisdom.  This is the way He develops us for His service.

In Colossians 1: 9-10Colossians 1: 9-10
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Paul says ‘9For this reason we also, from the day we heard of it, have not ceased to pray and make [[a]special] request for you, [asking] that you may be filled with the [b]full (deep and clear) knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom [[c]in comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God] and in understanding and discernment of spiritual things–10That you may walk (live and conduct yourselves) in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him and [d]desiring to please Him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work and steadily growing and increasing in and by the knowledge of God [with fuller, deeper, and clearer insight, [e]acquaintance, and recognition].

Each one of us should seek, desire and ask God for His Holy Spirit to teach us. Only through prayer and fasting which we are able to become wise and knowledgeable of the things of God Almighty.

Through this knowledge, we are able with God, to accomplish all things which He has called us to. Paul was very confident that when God calls us to do a good work, then He will bring it to pass through knowledge and power of the Holy Spirit.

God will bring you to a place you will be able to look back and say “WOW! I didn’t know I could accomplish that!”  May I tell you, you cannot do anything with out the power of the Holy Spirit and His guidance.

When I started ‘Lifeline Academy’ several years ago in the Dallas, Texas, I had no idea how to operate a school for at-risk youth. God guided and taught me how to deal with gang members, cross-dressing youth, child molesters, and other teens who had committed terrible crimes including murder.  Many being in jail and psychiatric centers when we took them in.

We eventually grew and grew and started to board teens in our own home. During this time, we had rival gang members living together with us. (Bloods and Cripts} We never once had a problem.

Was there fear?  Not at all.  We would lay in bed at night and listen to the gun shots a few blocks away.  Fear?  No we knew God called us, led us, and was protecting us in His will.

You see, the Holy Spirit was leading us to do the work He called us to do. I was led to former Miss America; city administrators, and even NFL players who would help us. Congressman Dick Armey was a major supporter (by coming by at least once per year to visit, not financially) to encourage the young people and answer questions.

God truly blessed us as we moved in His presence. Knowledge, peace, guidance all are provided for the work we are called to do. He never sets to a work to fail.

We are believing God is directing Psalms 91 Ministries to expand His Ad4j Radio Network, prison ministry, and even go into churches to teach ‘Possess the Land!’ Bible studies through conferences and seminars. God is leading, placing people in our pathway to help us, and I know financial provision will be provided.  We have been able to go into many different denominations because the program is ‘non-denominational’ and does not teach denominational theology, but Christ alone.

Psalms 91 Ministries does not pay Beth or I any salary. We donate our services. We, as time goes by will pay staff members helping us. God will bring about the good work He has called us to do and fruit is being already produced.  We are seeing those brought to Jesus Christ through His ministry.

(We are very careful to give Christ the total credit and praise for what is actually HIS work, not ours.  It is like a neighbor’s garden, we only work it, but it belongs to ‘Someone’ else.)

2012 can be the same for you. Do not look at the circumstances surrounding your life; look to God and have faith. You must have faith your God called, anointed you, He will teach, lead, and provide for the work you are called and Anointed to accomplish.

Today, ask Him for your needs and He will provide!
