On this day over two-thousand years ago history was changed.  Our lives and religion was changed forever!

It was on this day on a hill referred to as “the place of the skull” that atonement for the sins of the world was finished.  Death was conquered and Satan was defeated.

It was near Jerusalem on the Mount of Olives at a borrowed tomb that an angel stated the most profound statement that would change the way the world would worship…“He is not here!”

It was at that time a new era in this world’s religious community would change, never to be the same again.

The Savior had come, and the temple was destroyed but has been rebuilt as Jesus has said.

Little did the people realize here would start the debate of the centuries concerning the ‘real’ Messiah.  Was it Jesus?  Did His disciples steal away His body to make the world think He had risen?

Or was this the miraculous event the world had been waiting on?

Today, through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, there is Atonement for our sins, power over the wiles of the devil and his demons who bring persecution and condemnation upon the people, and most importantly, the basis of the Christian faith has been established.

We have an empty tomb.  Christ borrowed a tomb because He only needed it 3 days.  Then the miracle would come to pass.  He arose to take His place beside the Father in Heaven until His return for those who would follow Him.

He brought us the truth as stated in I Thessalonians 4:13-18  “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep (dead), that you sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep, in Jesus will God bring with him.  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord , that we which are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
