Godly relationships for believers

Godly relationships are very important in the church of today. Many of our churches have been divided for many years and have become unhealthy ‘Sunday civic clubs.’

Adam and Eve

In Genesis 3:1-13Genesis 3:1-13
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

3 1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Yea...: Heb. Yea, because, etc. 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. pleasant: Heb. a desire 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. aprons: or, things to gird about 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. cool: Heb. wind 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? 12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. 13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

we read about the first division between believers.  Adam and Eve knew God in a personal way no one else has had the opportunity to know Him.  Then they disobeyed God’s commands and brought sin into the world.

Mankind has had to deal with sin ever since.  Of course no one is at fault when there’s a problem in the church.

Adam blamed Eve; Eve blamed the serpent, and the devil, well he just laughed because he had accomplished what he set out to do.

He got Adam and Even drove out of the Garden and there his works were distributed into man of all nationalities.

Romans 5:12Romans 5:12
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: for that: or, in whom

WP-Bible plugin
says “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.”

Since Adam partook of this forbidden fruit, all men now have the curse on them.  The curse among other things is pride.  One of the most destructive sins of this life.

Yes, we have all sinned.  Yes we all have a job to do in the church but many want another person’s job.

We do battle to hold onto our place and gain additional jobs of power and notoriety.  We battle each other and hold grudges.

Galatians 5:13-26Galatians 5:13-26
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. 16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. ye...: or, fulfil not 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. affections: or, passions 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

WP-Bible plugin
shares that even a little offense or discord can cause the whole work God has planted to become tainted.  Tainted works are good for nothing if forgiveness is not obtained.

I like verses 14-15.  “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.  But if you bite and devour one another, take heed that you be not consumed one of another.”

We fight each other, strive for position and then eat each others reputation for gaining something we wanted. We do all we can to slander another person in order to gain position.

The stage (or piano more specifically) is a place of contention many times.  I have seen whole churches split over who’s going to play the piano.

In our church, we have 2 wonderful players on the keyboard and piano.  They work in harmony and do very well. When one is gone, the other takes over.

When there is a problem, the musicians have to forgive and pray together before they are permitted to return to the place of prominence on the platform.

Galatians 6:2-3Galatians 6:2-3
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. 3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

WP-Bible plugin
tells us to bear one anothers burdens.  When we pray for another, we cannot stay mad at that person.  Godly relationships are built out of prayer, quality time together in worship and other activities.

Hebrews 10-24-25 says “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so  much the more as you see the day approaching.”

worship

Our goal in life as believers is to meet together regularly to encourage and uplift each other.  As we worship in spirit and truth, we are able to reach out to those with heavy burdens and help to lift them.

Meeting together must never become a drudgery because we haven’t forgiven another.  It should be a pleasure to come together to pray, worship, and hear God’s Word to help us live a successful life full of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 14:1Romans 14:1
English: King James Version (1611) - KJV

14 1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. not...: or, not to judge his doubtful thoughts

WP-Bible plugin
says “Him that is weak in the faith receive you, but not to doubtful disputations.”

Don’t kill off the wounded in the army of God, rather, receive them, and help them get back on the narrow pathway to God.  We must become an army who never leaves its dead, but raises them for more service.

Dissension in the body of Christ is not what is supposed to happen.  We are about lifting, loving, and helping one another.  We are to pull in those who have wounded spirits in this life and help them.

Does your church do that?  Or are you one who tears down others with the almighty tongue in the Name of God “sharing” prayer requests?

Think about that the next time someone falls from the will of God. Lift don’t bury!

Big Lake, Texas

Everyone knows Beth and I have been filling in as pastors at First Assembly of God in Big Lake, Texas.

Map of Texas highlighting Reagan County

That’s a small town in west Texas (Reagan County) that has no lake, about 2,900 people with an influx of around 6-10,000 people on any given day.

The oil boom is booming around here!

Beth and I have been offered 2 churches to pastor.  I wanted to go to Amarillo, but God had other ideas.  I wanted to return where I grew up on a Boys’ Ranch.  God has other plans for us.

God is moving and growing this small congregation from the 5 we came here with to about thirty plus attendees.

I was revising my listing of attendees a few minutes ago and was amazed at the number of people who are beginning to call First Assembly of God home.  They are people with a heart for service who need a place.

They are displaced or removed from their home churches to follow work the oilfield is providing.  One lady drives weekly from Lovington, NM to be with us.  Her husband lives in a travel trailer about 20 miles from the church.  She and her kids come faithfully each week to worship.

God is moving us into additional ministries at the church.  After the first of the year we will be starting our T4T Youth Group soon.  That will be with teen ages ages Junior High and High School students.  These groups will feed into our Young Adults’ classes and activities!

Our Wednesday night service will change to “God’s Roundtable”.  We will have a time of prayer, praise and worship as well as age appropriate and topical Bible classes to attend.  They are informal so people can fellowship and ask questions or make comments about the topics.

Wednesday will also have groups for kids.  Our Children’s Church working will be off for this service so she may participate.  It will also involve additional people in caring for the kids and adults alike.  Teaching will rotate through the qualified adults who desire to teach a class.

Greetings From God

Like I said, exciting things happen when God is in control.

As with any new pastorate, things have to move slowly not to offend anyone.  Our goal in to grow in spirit and numbers, not offend those foundation members who have been here for years.

God always has a plan.  He will show you when we call upon Him and then listen to what He’s trying to show us.

God is good…..All the time!                     All the time…….God is good!

is the Great Commission.  It says “GO YOU!”

Who is ‘you’?  Was He only speaking to the disciples?  No Christ was speaking to all Christians.

In our nation, over 14% or 41 million people profess to be non-Christians.  We feel we must know God’s Word front wards and backwards before we can witness.  All Jesus desires of us to be a witness is to preach the gospel.

What we need in our nation is the Word ‘preached’ with out words.  Yes, that’s right, without words.

Our actions should reveal the Light of Christ.  It is His light that should through our daily lives.  Then when given the opportunity, share God’s Word.

Nothing fancy, just share what Jesus has done for you.  Share the changes He’s made in your life and how He’s called you and all believers to serve Him and share what He’s done.

Many times, living your life is all that’s needed.

Today, many have died.  There are mass causalities, suicides, and teen murders.  There is violence and persecution beginning in our nation against believers.

We must begin to reach out to those who are lost in sin and show the love of Christ Jesus.  He is the ONLY door that will open to the Throne Room of God and the pathway to heaven.

Blessings….Fire of Gods love

“Praying Hands” (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

unknown in the scriptures, was tremendously blessed by God by just asking.  Many of us forget the asking part…and then stopping to listen to His voice.

God not only blessed him, He also expanded his fast influence on the world.  Who would have guessed that a man who is only mentioned in 2 verses in the Bible would be quoted and put on many walls around our world.  This small prayer, not a long wordy prayer, no eloquence, but a heart felt cry to God, brought a major expansion to his words.

Jabez, was a favored man with his parents.  Not mentioned again, we can see the impact a few simple words in a prayer to God can have.  A prayer that is not rehearsed but focused totally on God.  God’s desires for his life.

As I sit here, I am considering the favor God has brought to us.  Beth and I have prayed for many years for a church to pastor.  We went to try out at two churches.  We found great favor in both, but God had one for us to serve.

Yes, we have our work cut out for us.  There has been trials, tribulation, power struggles in the past.   There has been deception and moral failures in the leadership as well as participation in civic clubs which require a commitment in a secret order to mankind and not God the Father.

We have seen great strides in the past 3 months.  Beth and I have also been praying for another vehicle.  Our 1980’s Lincoln has bit the dust a couple of years ago.  God blessed us with a young man who could work on the car and he bought it from us.

Yesterday, after a couple of years of praying for a car, a donor came forth and provided over $3,000 for us to purchase a car.  This vehicle has been held for us for a year.  The owner said he had put $3,000 into it but it was worth over $6,000.

He has not only kept it, but let us have it for the $3,000 we have!  Praise the Lord!

Next week, we travel to Austin, Texas area to pick it up and visit Beth’s brother and wife.

While there, I will be speaking to about 50 people who are struggling with addictions.  What a privilege to have that opportunity to share God’s Word with them!

God is moving in our lives.  The Psalms 91 Ministries and Evangelistic Center of Texas, Inc. is not only a 501(c)(3) corporation, but tremendously blessed by God.  Faithfulness and a desire to keep God in the forefront is foremost in our lives.

Faithfulness and a desire to serve God, is of utmost in a Christian’s life.  Through God’s Word and a strong prayer life, we can see God’s will and blessings for us.

God’s Word should be the foundation of our lives.  Prayer is the walls.  Prayer should never be a program, but a way of life.  When it becomes a way of life, then we experience and know God’s Will.

God bless you as you serve the Savior.  Please post your prayer requests here so all can be in agreement with you for your needs.

Blessings,

Pastor/Teacher Mark A Jones

How to help…cheaply!

I know everyone is ‘begging’ for support.  All we are asking is not only for online donations and prayer, but also the following 2 ways to help us help others:

1.  Save your plastic lids.  These can be from your water bottles, soft drinks, any cheese dip

English: Sodas and soft drinks at a Supermarket

Sodas and soft drink lids (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

or cake icing plastic lids.  These lids to to help needy children we cannot afford cancer treatments.  For each 100 lids, 1 child will receive 1 treatment.  Help us help these kids with this terrible disease.

2.  We also collect ink cartridges which have run their course.  These cartridges pay for our printing needs through local retailer.  They provide our in for brochures, Bible Studies, and misc. letters to inmates and others.  Please send your used cartridges to us!

Please help us with these needs and let’s work together to help others in a cost effective way!  Psalms 91 Ministries tries to be good stewards of God’s money.  It’s not ours, but His to reach His children.

God bless.

New Seasons of Ministry…

The Jones familyIn serving God, there are various seasons in our lives and service to Him.  Beth and I have been preparing for the new season for our lives.

We bought 3 funeral homes in 2001.  Since that time, our health has gone down and the Lord has spoken to us.  His Word to us in a prophesy was “march forward and do not look to the history behind you.  Only look forward to what I have for you!”

We have done just that.  Many have come against us not understanding a full faith in the Father.  They don’t understand the meaning of turning from a life of material possessions to a life of modest possessions and a new life for Him.

I had a vision in 2007 from the Lord.  I was dying in my bed at home.  I had come from the hospital after 2 1/2 months there.  I had an IV, IV pole and bags of medicine, and they totally expected me to never come out of the house.

I was sent home to die!

Today, I have been totally healed.  In the vision the Lord stood at the foot of my bed.  To make a long story short, He treated me a lot like Peter.  He asked me 3 times if I would serve Him or continue in my current  lifestyles?

I said “Yes, I will serve You.”  Three times I had to say that.

The next morning, Beth asked me what I was dreaming about.  I had torn up the bed, nothing was tucked in and she had been kicked and hit several times during the night.  She stated I even yelled and talked all night.

I didn’t reveal the vision for sometime.  I was still very sick, but He had shown me Psalms 91 to bring up my faith in Him.  I know if I stood on the Word of God and studied it He would heal my body totally.

Ministry in ConnecticutToday, I do have ‘side effects’ from the illness.  It was a fatal situation which I was so sick, there was no way in the flesh I could return to full health.

So, to make another long story short….again….We no longer work in the funeral homes unless our daughter needs us for short stents.  I only go to the funerals and stand to greet people.  No working though.

Now, we are moving toward pastoral ministry.  We felt (and would still walk in that office if the Lord provided) since doors were not opening as needed, God wanted us to move to pastoring.

He has opened several doors and we’re working that direction.  We have turned down a couple of churches, but now fill in at an Assembly of God church.

Ad4j Radio Network will be no more on September 19th.  We will not spend that money to keep the station up.

We are cutting down on social medias.  This blog and our website will be our focus.  We will pastor, blog, get our gift shop up and running, then continue to study God’s Word.

We will have our hands full with what the Lord is leading us to do.  Another area we are moving into is video teaching.  This permits those overseas to download our teachings and play them in Bible Schools around the world!  God is so good!

We will have some of those videos here on www.psalms91ministries.net.

So, I say to you, keep coming back to this site to see videos, blogs, Bible Studies and devotionals.  The gift shop will take some time to get up.

Our prison ministry is still going.  We still provide Bible studies to prisoners, write

nearly 300 inmates each month a personal letter (no form letters here!), and of course visit them.

We also have those we are raising up to become men and women of God to serve Him in the work He’s called them to do!

So, in short, (not really…lol!) God is moving in our lives and moving us to a new season.  We are still open for conferences, revivals, and other doors God may open for us to walk through.

So, we look forward to seeing you here and hearing from you!

God bless!

Bigotry in the Name of Jesus

Its terrible when you have to unfriend a pastor friend from FaceBook because of the

bigotry and hate in their speech.  Yes, I’m all for “telling it like it is” but to be hateful about it is totally UN-Christian.  We recently turned down a church partially because we would have to deal with a pastor like that.  Sorry, I just can’t take it any longer.  The venom that spews in the name of Christianity is doing more harm than good in America and the World.

Jesus told us to love our enemies.  Spewing bigotry across the world is not a way to love our enemies.  Yes, tell them straight out they are in danger of eternal damnation and separation from God.

Yes, call evil spirits out from among us and rebuke them.  Deliver people from their power.

Yes, take a stand for good and share the Gospel forcefully.  We can be forceful and like the disciples and call sin/sin without tearing everyone else down.

I am one who preaches the uncompromising Word of God.  Congregations will tell you I will step on toes and not apologize for it.  The Word of God is a convicting force to be reckoned with.

It is powerful, cuts to the inner parts of our souls to convict us of sinful ways.  As ministers we have a responsibility to be loving and caring as well as forceful, but never hateful.

Hate is not acceptable.  Christ come against many and even had righteous anger in the temple.  He offended many both in the temple, the nations, and government, but He did it with love.

Yes, His Words were not always complimentary, but to the point.  We are not Christ!

Life is like a box of chocolates…

Someone once said in a movie “Life is like a box of chocolates”.  We just never know what

English: A Swedish box of chocolates called &q...

we’ll get until we bite into a piece of it.

I have been so blessed and guarded by the great God we serve so many times in my life.  I have been in places where death could have taken me so very quickly,  moral destruction could have ruined any type of product adulthood, and even had times when there would be no reason to continue to serve God much less attend church!

Our God provides so much protection and care to us which we will never know until years later as we begin to review our life.  Yes, I continually look back to see if I’m really making a difference in people’s lives for the better or worse.

Our God provides so much protection and care to us which we will never know until years later as we begin to review our life.  Yes, I continually look back to see if I’m really making a difference in people’s lives for the better or worse.

I live my life to serve that awesome God I’ve talked about as fully as possible.  Each of us have various talents, ideas, and methodologies to live for Him, but, do we look to Him for the answer and methods to use.

Through my life, I’ve been in crimes from simple little misdemeanors to major felony types.  As with all of us, I share some of my life experiences along the way to encourage others (particularly teens and those in prisons) to keep on the straight and narrow way of God instead of the broad and full way of this worldly life.

Yes, we gain excitement, adventure, and some temporary satisfaction from our earthly adventures and sins.  It is truly, and I sincerely mean this, TRULY, the adventures with God which bring eternal and the most satisfying adventures and experiences in life.

My favorite scriptures are found in Psalms 91, of course.  There are many and may I say too many to list in one post which I have found comfort and peace in.

Let the Guilt Go

Let the Guilt Go (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

As I read over a bio on LinkedIn.com of a pastor, I was reminded and impressed that he also may have been in the divorce category of life.  One person commented about him glowingly that he has studied the topic of divorce for many years and even written a book about it.

As I read on, I realized there is no mention of a wife, only children whom are now grown and productive, Christians.

The commentary stated in essence that it is easier in most denominations to be forgiven of murder than of divorce.  I too being divorced, have often stated I wished I had killed my ex as I would be out of prison, living a good life, and in ministry so much sooner and easier.

Why is that?  Does God’s grace not cover divorce as it does other sins?  Is divorce one of the unpardonable sins?  What about child abusers, sex offenders or murderers?  They are forgiven before the “big D”?  Why do we have categories of sins?  To make ourselves seem a better person than others when we did the same things but just didn’t get caught?

I know several denominations will let a minister have an affair, or even many and steal God’s money from the people through the church, serve a couple of years of penitence and then return to the pulpit totally forgiven and restored.

BUT, if the “big D” is back there somewhere, there is reports, witnesses, confessions, meetings, interviews, and committees you have to go through to be “considered accepted” for ministry.  Regardless of the call on your life by God.

The “box of chocolates” of life are interesting.  Some have nuts in them.  They are those of us with bumps and difficulties in our past seeking forgiveness and to be justified by man.  We are the one’s who continually strive to make it in life.  These people work hard but when a trouble, conflict or character test comes their way, it takes all they have to overcome victoriously.   They do come out good, but they seem to have to really work to get things in this life.

The chocolates with cherries are the ones who have lived in “high cotton” as we say in the

English: A pair of cherries

English: A pair of cherries (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

South.  They were born into a family with wealth and stature.  High standards and quality of life has been handed to them.  When trouble hits, daddy buys them out of it and they go on to experience something new.  Eventually handed millions of dollars to live their lives in comfort.

The cream filled chocolates are the people like a brother of mine.  Everything he touches turns to gold, life is smooth, he keeps a positive attitude about any situation and just goes about the day working through those things.  (But, he does not have a relationship with Christ nor wants one.)
Even in Jr. High school he sold shoes door to door and Amway.  His cute smile and curly hair got him so many sales you can’t imagine.  He also saved most of his money and probably has some of that money today in his 50’s.  Not to say he hasn’t had problems in life, but he works through the pain and sorrow and moves to the next adventure life throws at him.

Then there’s the solid chocolates.  You know the ones with the solid milk chocolate centers.  They are firm to the touch, but so delicious?  Those are the people who work all their lives striving to make a living.  They work hard, are so good Christian people whose reward will come as life ends for them.  They are solid in their faith, solid in their lives and morals.  They have not had a great many trials in life, but came through the ones they had and moved on.

Which of the chocolates are you?  We should all realize early that sense of wanting to belong to “something or higher power” in life and know it is Jesus.  He brings us out of things, puts us back into life whole, and guides us to the next step in life.

Again, “life is like a box of chocolates”.  Which one will you be?

So may I end with another quote from the same movie.  I think it tells exactly what we’re to do for Christ and in this life….”Run, Forest, Run!”

New Season of Life

Last night I had the bittersweet job of telling my inmates that I would not be returning on a regular basis.

In I Thessalonians 1:5 it says “For our gospel came not unto you in Word

only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost”

In ministry, we must preach the Word of God in power of the Holy Spirit.  Many will not accept it because of the message or style of delivery.  We must stand firm and know the Holy Ghost is leading us in His Work.

This last few months has been filled with trying out at churches, some pretty awesome churches with great opportunities for a Holy Ghost filled ministry.  We have buried Beth’s mom who was an Assemblies of God minister for over 60 years, our air conditioner went out on our 1998 Nissan pick-up and we’ve been driving it in 100 degree weather to preach, then the Lord leads us to a church south of Midland, Texas.

This little church (First Assembly of God, Big Lake, Texas) has been hurt and split so many ways it would take months to share with you all the problems.  We have been there about a month now and what a mighty move of the Holy Spirit!

People have been saved, rededicated their lives to sharing the Gospel of Christ, and forgiveness so strong they have been able to even go out to eat on Sundays.  You ask “What’s the problem with going out to eat?”

The pastor who put the church into terrible pain and agony is always there to ridicule them.  They have learned to lean on the Holy Spirit and even go and hug his neck when they totally despised what he’s done.  Praise the Lord!

Total deliverance comes through forgiveness.  Forgiveness will bring a freedom to your life like you have not experienced in years.

II Timothy 1:12-14 tell us in the Amplified Translation, “And this is why I am suffering (experiencing sensations, impressions, passion) as I do.  Still I am not ashamed, for I know (perceive, have knowledge of, and am acquainted with) Him Whom I have believed (adhered to and trusted in and relied on), and I am (positively) persuaded that He is able to guard and keep that which has been entrusted to me and which I have committed (to Him) until that day.”

Have you trusted everything to God?  I’ve said before, we’ve turned over our funeral homes to another family, we have turned our backs on the business as it goes down, because we know with out a doubt what the Lord has called us to do.

We are called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in power and the Holy Spirit.  We have seen those delivered from alcohol and drugs, we say a woman who was struck dumb from a stroke to begin to speak, and those saved from wrong doings against God.

Yes, we will continue this blog, we have new products coming which I know you’ll enjoy, and our teaching newsletter is starting soon.  You will want to get signed up on this site to receive it when we start.  You will not want to miss a single issue!

God bless and we praise God for all your prayers and financial support of Psalms 91 Ministries and Evangelistic Center of Texas, Inc.

Lola Irene Campbell Eason

Lola Irene Eason passed from this life on Friday, July 19, 2013 with her family at her Eason obitbedside at Odyssey Hospice Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Mrs. Eason has joined her husband, Rev. Roy Eason who arrived in heaven in 2003 and was there to meet her with her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Mrs. Eason was a licensed Assemblies of God minister who held a tremendous knowledge of the Bible.  She made sure she read through it at least once each year.  She was a Sunday School teacher and Sectional Leader of the East Plains Women’s Ministries for several years.

Mrs. Eason served faithfully beside her beloved husband in ministry for over 60 years.  They pastored and worked to keep small churches open and building them.

Mrs. Eason was born to John and Sadie Campbell on August 8, 1922st 8, 1922

in Wapanucka, Oklahoma.   She saw her husband across the church in Estaline, Texas during her teen years and went home and told her parents he was the one she’d marry.  On September 28, 1940, she married the man of her dreams.  Rev. Eason had made the same statement to his mother.

It is told they never kissed or even held hands during their yearlong courtship until after they were married.

Mrs. Eason was known for her knowledge of the Bible and prayer life by both ministers and lay-people throughout the West Texas District.  She was an avid cook and gracious host to all who knocked upon her door.

Missionaries from around the world looked forward to the large home cooked meals she would prepare for them during their visits in the Eason home.

Mrs. Eason was a missionary at heart.  She ministered the Word of God through song and word even on her death bed.  She touched the lives of all she came in contact with.

She loved to laugh and cherished her  children whom she leaves behind: John and his wife Carole from Bastrop, Texas; Beth Jones and her husband Mark of Seagraves, Texas; and Dee Dee Cain and her husband Donald from Lewisville, Texas and 7 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.

The family would like to especially thank her caregiver for many years Brenda Robbins and her two sons for becoming a part of the family.  She was faithful to serve her and Mrs. Eason loved her like a daughter.

Services will include visitation from 1pm to 8pm on Sunday.  The family will receive friends from 5pm to 6pm on Sunday.  A celebration service of her life will be shared with all and officiated by District Superintendent Glen Beever and Rev. L.D. Hinson at 2pm on Monday at Seagraves First Assembly of God.  Graveside services in Childress, Texas on Tuesday at 11am.

The family entrusted the care of their loved one to Mark A Jones Funeral Directors of Seagraves, Texas.
